Are you a manufacturer of power plant controllers? According to German VDE-application rules, component certificates must be issued for all components that have a significant influence on the electrical characteristics of generating plants. And also outside Germany specific grid connection requirements apply to the electrical properties of power plant controllers. Please feel free to contact us in order to find out the respective requirements in your target country.
German VDE Guidelines
The evaluated functions of a power plant controller can include the following (according to German VDE guidelines):
- Active power control
- Power gradients
- Reactive power control
- Blocking of reclosure / checking of the reclosure conditions
- Behavior in the event of communication faults
The first certification of a power plant controller in Germany was carried out by FGH and since then we have successfully completed many other projects. All functions to be certified can be measured by our accredited testing laboratory in our own Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) test bench. The simulation model required for successful certification can also be validated by our certification body.
